Q Can a candidate from Andhra Pradesh and Telangana apply for 15% All India Quota seats?

Yes. In 2018, Andhra Pradesh & Telangana state decided to contribute to the 15% All India Quota seats. Candidates from these states are now eligible for 15% AIQ seats without any self- declaration.

Q What is the age criterion for appearing in NEET-UG?

He/she has completed age of 17 years at the time of admission or will complete that age on or before 31 December of the year of his/her admission to the first year Undergraduate Medical Courses.

The upper age limit for NEET (UG) is 25 years as on the date of examination with relaxation of 5 years for the candidates belonging to SC/ST/OBC-NCL category and PwD Candidates.

For Candidates of General (UR)/General-EWS- born on or before 31.12.2003

For Candidates of SC/ST/OBC-NCL/PwD Category- born on or before 31.12.2003

Q In how many regional languages, NEET-UG will be conducted?

NEET-UG 2020 will be conducted in the following 11 languages:
English, Hindu, Gujarati, Tamil, Kannada, Telugu, Assamese, Urdu, Marathi, Bengali and Odia.

Q Who can appear in NEET-UG?

Indian Nationals
Non Resident Indians (NRIs)
Oversees Citizen of India (OCIs)
Persons with Indian Origin (PIOs)
Foreign Nationals are eligible to appear in NEET (UG)-2018 for 15% All India Quota Seats.

Q How many such exams like NTSE are there?

To gauge a student’s potential many exams are conducted at national and state levels. The notable exams are: NTSE - This exam identifies talented students and nurtures them. Scholarships are also awarded to the qualifiers.
KVPY - The Kishore Vaigyanik Protsahan Yojana (KVPY) entrance exam searches for the scientific temper among young students.
Mathematics and Science Olympiads - These gauges a student’s performance in Mathematics and Science at an all India level.
JSTS - The Junior Science Talent Search Examination (JSTS) is conducted separately in each state (union territories too) of India by the respective state education departments only through schools, not individually.
These exams are symbolic of merit and achievement and every student must try to qualify in these.

Q How can a student participate in Olympiads?

Olympiads are organized at two levels:
Level 1 is a Science Olympiad and Mathematics Olympiad that is organized by the SOF in the respective schools of the participants during school hours.
Level 2 is conducted across India and abroad and is organized in more than 120 centres.
The centres of exams are the Kendriya Vidyalayas and the exams are conducted in the month of February.
The top 500 students along with the school topper award winners of level 1 qualify for level 2 exams. Students from classes 1st to 12th are eligible for this exam. Registration forms are made available at schools and a nominal participation fee is charged from each student.

Q What is the past performance of Aakash at exams like NTSE and Olympiads?

Aakash has been quite consistent with its performance when it comes to producing achievers. A good number of students who had taken coaching from Aakash qualified NTSE and many other such exams. The details of which have been mentioned in the ‘Our Results’ category in www.aakash.ac.in .

Q I have taken admission into one of the NITs. Am I eligible for JEE (Advanced) ?

Yes. The candidates who have taken admissions in NITs are also eligible for appearing in JEE (Advanced) , if they satisfy all other eligibility criteria given in the information brochure.

Q What is my login id to apply for JEE (Advanced)?

If you have accepted seat in IITs then you are NOT eligible for JEE (Advanced) 2017. Please refer to point 10 (criterion 5) of Information Brochure.

Q Is it necessary to appear in JEE (Main) Examination twice? If I give the examination on both the occasions, which score will be considered?

No, It is not necessary to appear in JEE (Main) twice. This would be optional for the candidate to appear once or twice for the current academic session. In case a candidate appears in both the tests, the better of the two scores will be used for the admissions and eligibility for JEE (Advance)-2019 they have attempted both the examinations, best of the scores would be taken for the merit list.

Q What is the state of eligibility for the Improvement Candidates /Institution Abroad/NIOS?

If a candidate has passed Class 12th/ Equivalent qualifying examination from one State but appeared for improvement from another State, his/her State code of eligibility will be from where he/she has originally passed Class 12th/ Equivalent qualifying examination and not the State from where he/she has appeared for improvement. Indian Nationals passing the equivalent qualifying examination from an institution abroad, the State of Eligibility will be determined on the basis of permanent address in India as given in the Passport of the candidate. Candidate passed/appearing class 12th from NIOS should select the State of Eligibility according to the State in which the study centre is located. The state of eligibility is not applicable for the candidates belonging to Nepal /Bhutan/Foreign/OCI/PIO.

Q What are the instructions regarding OBC, SC, ST and PWBD certificates?

Please read Instructions given in the Prospectus regarding the above mentioned certificates carefully. The requirements/formats are clearly mentioned therein. Certificates as mentioned in the Prospectus will ONLY be considered/ accepted. In case candidates fail to produce the certificates (as per instructions provided), at time of online Counseling, then they will not be permitted to participate in the online Counseling.

Q Do I have to indicate choice of AIIMS (i.e. AIIMS New Delhi, Bhopal, Bhubaneshwar, Jodhpur, Guntur (A.P.), Nagpur (Maharashtra), Patna, Raipur& Rishikesh,) during Online Registration?

No, there will be no need to indicate the choice of AIIMS. However, the choice of AIIMS will be chosen at the time of online counselling.

Q As digital learning resources are new, how can I choose from live interactive classes or recorded video lectures?

The mode of education and understanding of educational content is evolving over time.
