The Green Dot Platinum secured credit card can build your credit history since it reports your payments to the three main credit bureaus. Generally, pre-paid cards and debit cards do not.

Q What if I'm the victim of a scam using MoneyPak?

If a customer thinks they may have been scammed, they should submit a fraud claim to Green Dot immediately and contact their local police department as quickly as possible. Green Dot will attempt to recover funds from fraudulent activity, but if the MoneyPak funds have already been transferred, Green Dot will not be able to issue a refund.

Remember to treat your MoneyPak like cash. Transactions cannot be reversed, so only give the number to a trusted recipient. Green Dot is not responsible for the quality or non-receipt of any goods or services.

You will be unable to access funds though your physical card after you have reported it lost or stolen. If you added your card to your digital wallet prior to being lost or stolen, you can still make purchases with your card using Apple Pay, Google Pay or Samsung Pay.

Q I bought something online and it was declined but I had enough money for the purchase. Why?

While there could be other reasons, the purchase you made online might have been declined because the address you provided to the merchant is different than the address we have on file for your card. To update your address, call the number on the back of your card.

Q How do I dispute a transaction with Green Dot Bank?

If a customer notices unauthorized charges on their account, they should contact Green Dot’s Product Support Team at (866) 795-7597 to speak to a live representative. Green Dot’s Product Support Team will be able to review the account transaction history and provide assistance.

Q How do I lock / unlock my Green Dot Visa® debit card?

Simply log into your account using the Green Dot app. Find the toggle button on your home screen OR select Settings => Manage Card => Lock Card. That’s it!
